Winter 2002-2003

Very eventful, but in a quiet way

As round the world some of them were trying in vain to convince the rest of us that it would be a fun idea to go bomb a lot of the folks down in Iraq, D. Peck and friends spent the fall and winter hiding out in the safest place they could think of.

A chilly walk to La Grillette and the Pré du Joux farms

You may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go.

La Grillette

La Grillette in iffy weather, 11 January 2003. Not much snow yet.

January 2003

11 January 2003 -- still waiting for the serious snow.

Prés de Joux

Beautiful Prés de Joux, a bright afternoon, the same day, at 1107m above Marchissy.

January 2003, before the big snowfalls of the year. The scratched out areas in the snow have presumably been created by wild pigs, the sangliers, looking for stuff to eat, discretely, after dark.

The farm at Prés de Joux -- what a fine January afternoon. Time for a little nap.

The farm at Prés de Joux as one starts up into the forest above Marchissy, on the hiking path called the "Sentier du Coq".
