Winter 2003-2004

wonderful wintry fun in the country the neo-cons have so far overlooked

Seeking beautiful scenic views of the Grand Cunay

Though this might not be the best day for it

You may not find this terribly rewarding unless you're included here, so this is a good time for casual and random browsers to turn back before they get too caught up in the sweep and majesty of the proceedings and can't let go.

We depart from the Col du Marchairuz in what seems to be 'uncertain weather', 14 March 2004.

It's probably all snuggly dry and warm in there.

We're passing the farm of Mont de Bière Derrière (1481m) about two kilometres out.

Dr Pirri is leading, but who knows to where?

It turns out that this is the Grand Cunay after all. The trail sign says so. We've found it by accident.

Looks like I'm coming late to the party.

-- You found it? Excellent.

-- And now, shall we proceed?

The weather is lifting, and the world seems more navigable now.

We're having such fun with all this visibility.

Le beau soleil. Our patience has been rewarded. But it's time to turn around for today.

Oh maaaaann . . . That's the farm of Petit Cunay; we almost missed it and might have ended up in Germany.

-- Are we lost again?

A glorious end to the day
